Gloria Dada Sanchez

Dr. Gloria Dada was born in El Salvador but spent her childhood in México. She studied her BS in Psychology in Italy, and moved to Spain to complete her graduate studies and PhD. In 2012, Gloria returned to El Salvador and founded a Psychological Centre (Arboretum), where she had served as Clinical Director until 2015. She has a wide-range of teaching experiences in Spain, Italy and El Salvador, at undergraduate and graduate courses. In September 2015, she joined the Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary as a postdoctoral scholar.

Research & Scholarly Activity

Dr. Gloria Dada’s research focuses on studying the role of personal and interpersonal construing and identity conflict in wellbeing and mental health. Her main interest centers on eating disorders and eating attitudes issues. She also investigates about individual counselling and family therapy for people with eating concerns, depression and dystimia. Dr. Dada moved to Calgary to continue her research career under the mentorship of Dr. Tom Strong. She pursue to use quantitative and qualitative methodologies to study mental health and wellbeing issues.
