Profile

Dr. Johnston was born in Toronto. She is married and has two sons. Dr. Johnston came to the University of Calgary in 1992 to pursue an MEd in School Psychology. Licensed as a Registered Psychologist since 1997, she has worked for community agencies, school boards, and private practice in Calgary. With a desire to specialize in neuropsychology, she completed an MSc in Neuropsychology (Edinburgh) a PhD in Psychology and Neuroscience (St Andrews) and a postdoctoral position in School Neuropsychology (Calgary). Coming full circle, Dr. Johnston has now returned to the Werklund School of Education as a Clinical Supervisor with the Integrated Services in Education clinic and has a small private practice (Cowtown Psychology).

Research & Scholarly Activity

Dr. Johnston continues to collaborate with researchers in child and adult neuropsychology.

Professional & Community Affiliations

Dr. Johnston is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists since 1997 and member of professional associations in psychology at the provincial, national, and international level. She previously served as a board member with the Psychologists Association of Alberta (PAA) and most recently served as a member of the PAA Continuing Education Committee. She is currently a Public Member on the Council for the Alberta College of Paramedics.
