IT Account and University of Calgary E-mail

IT Account Information

An Information Technologies (IT) account is necessary if you want to take advantage of any IT services. These include: IT guy

  • E-mail
  • Dial-up internet access
  • AirUC wireless network
  • IT computer labs
  • Webdisk
  • General purpose Unix servers
  • Specialized software
  • Administrative/Business systems
  • Shared staff calendars

An IT Account is not necessary to access the myUofC; however, it may be required for some services within the Portal.

Upon admission students are encouraged to set up a University of Calgary IT computing account at:

The IT account comes with a username, password, and e-mail address.  Write down this information for future reference and keep it confidential.

University of Calgary E-mail

Students have the opportunity to have a University of Calgary  Information Technologies (IT) e-mail account at no extra charge, by activating the IT account. We strongly recommend the University of Calgary e-mail account to be utilized as the primary e-mail contact for Graduate Program related information.

Once you set up your University of Calgary e-mail account, please update your e-mail address in the online Student Centre in the myUofC, as well as let our office know directly at so we can update the listserv database immediately.
