FORMERLY ENGLISH FOR ACADEMIC PURPOSES PROGRAM
The International Foundations Program is a flexible English language program that enables international students to meet the English language proficiency level required for admission into their chosen undergraduate or graduate degree program at the University of Calgary, Canada's #1 young university. Details
The International Foundations Program is the new name for the English for Academic Purposes, or EAP. If you are currently enrolled in or have applied to the EAP, please note the new name of the program.
If you have applied and been admitted into a degree program such as engineering, science, arts or graduate studies, but need to improve your academic English skills, you are first admitted into the International Foundations Program.
Depending on your English skills, you are placed into tier one, two or three. Each tier requires one term to complete (13 weeks) and you must attend English writing (10 hours), English reading (five hours), and English listening/speaking (five hours) courses every week. You should complete the program within three months to a year, depending on the tier you are placed into.
