Psychosocial Supports for the Classroom
Empowering educators with practical tools and strategies to respond to the growing mental health needs of today’s youth.
Gounded in research and designed for real-world teaching, this professional learning series helps teachers build spaces in which students thrive socially, emotionally and academically.
Goals
1. Strengthen capacity of school staff to provide targeted supports that address student psychosocial and academic needs, with a specific focus on Tier 2 promotion and intervention.
2. Foster a collaborative network among participants to share strategies and insights.
3. Align professional practices with established frameworks, such as the Teaching Quality Standard (TQS) and Leadership Quality Standard (LQS).
Schedule
| Day 1 | Introduction to the tiered model, including pre-surveys and foundational discussions |
| Day 2 | Collaborative structures and assessment strategies for targeted interventions |
| Day 3 | Approaches and supports, and the integration of processes and protocols |
| Day 4 | Pathways through and from services, transitions and resource management |
| Day 5 & 6 | Two additional follow-up sessions (1 month apart) to review implementation progress and refine educators’ strategies |
