Dr. Pallavi Banerjee invited as speaker on an national town hall series, examining Canadian race relations

An event examining systemic racism was organized by The Globe and Mail and the Canadian Race Relations Foundation

Dr. Pallavi Banerjee was invited to be a speaker at the fourth National Town Hall series, Finding Common Ground, hosted by The Globe and Mail and The Canadian Race Relations Foundation. This year's theme was Systemic Racism in Canada – Policy Opportunities, and explored solutions across immigration, criminal justice, climate response, and online safety, with a focus on actionable policies to create a more equitable Canada. The panel that Dr. Banerjee participated on was entitled, Immigration Policy and Sentiment - Charting a better course in Canada, moderated by Ian Bailey, Staff Reporter, The Globe and Mail, Ottawa Bureau. The panelists spoke on Canadian immigration policies and the systemic racism that impacts immigrants what might be some ways to course correct on the current anti-immigration public rhetoric and governmental policies.
