Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth – Transitioning Into Post-Secondary

The Transitioning Into Post-Secondary (TIPS) program matches pre-service teachers and international students with immigrant and refugee youth. Offering a wealth of resources and services, the goal of this program is to help newcomers achieve their personal, social, and academic goals, as well as better understand Canadian communities and the postsecondary system.

  • Service Themes: Community Engagement, Mentorship
  • Runs: October – December or January – March
  • Best Fit For: Students in any year of their Education program

Immigrant Services Calgary – Homework Club Tutors

Immigrant Services Calgary's Homework Club selects tutors who engage immigrant/refugee learners through providing tutoring in school subjects (i.e., English, Math, Science, Social Science, etc.). Tutors help students build academic skills, develop better study habits, improve self-confidence, and achieve success in school and life.

  • Service Themes: Tutoring, Capacity Building
  • Runs: October – December or January – March
  • Best Fit For: Students who have started their EDUC 400s and students in their Non-Education Years
