Akilak's Adventures

This picturebook tells the story of a young Inuk girl who needs to travel across the tundra to get food for her ailing grandmother. She is helped along the way by a Cariboo with her grandmother’s spirit. She also discusses other animals on the tundra and the book concludes with some notes about the specific cultural elements contained in the text. Deborah Kigjugalik Webster is an Inuk writer from Baker Lake Nunavut.
