Partnerships and Transfer Agreements
The Werklund School participates in a number of partnership and transfer agreements that are designed to enhance academic cooperation, expand educational opportunities, and provide students with more flexible and diverse pathways to complete their education.
Manitoba First Nations Education Resource Centre - Partnership Agreement
The Werklund School of Education's inaugural Indigenous student cohort in partnership with the Manitoba First Nations Education Research Centre (MFNERC) began a three-year Master of Education in School and Applied Child Psychology (MEd SACP) degree in Summer 2018. The cohort of 13 Indigenous students are pursuing their graduate studies while remaining in their home communities in Manitoba.
Many of the 17 courses are a blend of online and in-person programming. The cohort met on the University of Calgary campus in Summer 2018, and again for their practica during the 2019 and 2020 Spring terms. In turn, Werklund School instructors will teach in Manitoba throughout the year.

University of the Fraser Valley, Abbotsford, British Columbia - Transfer Agreement
The Werklund School of Education has an agreement established for students completing the University of Fraser Valley Graduate Certificate in Mindfulness-Based Teaching and Learning (MBTL). The MBTL Certificate is offered by the Faculty of Professional Studies and the Department of Adult Education at the University of the Fraser Valley. The program is delivered in a hybrid format with on-campus classes in Abbotsford, BC and with an option to participate using videoconferencing technology. Students completing the MBTL Certificate from UFV can apply to ladder into Werklund's MEd Interdisciplinary degree pathway.

RedCrow College, Standoff, Alberta - Classroom Space Agreement
The Werklund School of Education has an agreement with the Red Crow College in Standoff Alberta to offer select 4-course topics from the MEd Interdisciplinary Program. Learning experiences take place both outside on the land and in classroom space in Standoff, Alberta. Calgary Board of Education, Calgary, Alberta - Leading for Learning Cohort
The Werklund School of Education established a pathway for Master of Education Specialist route for educators employed by the Calgary Board of Education in Calgary, Alberta. Leading for Learning CBE Cohort is a blended program option with course work taking place at the University of Calgary, at Calgary Board of Education sites and with online components. This cohort is offered when there is sufficient interest from applicants from the CBE.
Parkland School Division, Spruce Grove, Alberta - Leading for Learning Cohort
Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary established a pathway for Master of Education (MEd), Specialist route for educators employed by the Parkland School Division in Spruce Grove, Alberta. Leading for Learning Parkland Cohort is a blended program option with course work taking place at the University of Calgary, at Parkland School Division sites and with online components. This cohort is offered when there is sufficient interest from applicants from Parkland School Division.
Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary, Calgary, Alberta - Educational Neuroscience: Applications for Teaching & Learning
A cross-faculty partnership between the Cumming School of Medicine and the Werklund School of Education resulted in the collaborative design of a four-course topic in Neuroscience.

A cross-faculty partnership between the Faculty of Social Work and the Werklund School of Education faculty resulted in the collaborative design of an award-winning four-course topic in Advancing Healthy and Socially Just Schools and Communities. The University of Calgary Provost and Vice President (Academic) honoured this program in 2017 with the University of Calgary Curriculum Development Award.
