Educating Children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder
Program Overview
The prevalence of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is on the rise, and teachers are increasingly being called upon to educate children in this population. However, few teachers have received formal training or are aware of the primary characteristics of ASD and how the behaviours that these children present with can affect their learning.
This topic will begin the process of developing expertise in the area of ASD by preparing students with the knowledge to better understand, work with, and educate children with ASD.
