Campus community invited to keynote addresses at the 2019 Exchange Conference

Staff, faculty and community members are invited to see two inspiring keynote speakers at the 2019 UCalgary Exchange Conference: millennial influencer Kelly Lovell on Friday, Feb. 1, and Indigenous actor Grace Dove on Saturday, Feb. 2.

Teaming up to bring their annual conferences into one action-packed weekend, Career Services and the Leadership and Student Engagement Office are offering two full days of programming, workshops and panels designed to help students develop their career and leadership potential. 

This year, staff, faculty and community members are also invited to enjoy the keynote portion of each day. Both Lovell and Dove bring special insight into what it means to follow your passion and chart your own path – something often on the minds of the students we work with each day.

Kelly Lovell: The Change Leader Formula

Kelly Lovell is a 16-time award-winning woman entrepreneur, policy advisor and speaker, globally recognized for her expertise on Bridging The Gap to the next generation. She is CEO of Lovell Corporation, a global youth consultancy and influencer marketing agency that helps organizations adapt to the changing workforce and connect with young influencers. Putting insights into practice, her people data company MyEffect builds digital solutions to develop, evaluate and recognize human potential.

Grace Dove: Saying YES to My Dreams Every Day and Pursuing Them Fearlessly

• Saturday, Feb. 2, 9:05-10:05 a.m., MacEwan Hall

Grace Dove is an Indigenous actor from Canim Lake, B.C., who has embraced a responsibility to lift up her audience and her community. In 2015, she co-starred with Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy in the Oscar-winning film The Revenant. You can currently watch Grace in the Netflix thriller How It Ends alongside Academy Award-winning actor Forest Whitaker and Theo James. Most recently, she wrapped up her first leading role in the feature film adaptation of Eden Robinson’s novel Monkey Beach. When the red carpet is rolled up and tucked away, she facilitates her youth empowerment program Thunderbird Dreams in communities.
