2021 Engineering Excellence Awards

Service Excellence Award: Dr. Elena Rangelova

Award criteria: Awarded to recipients who have made contributions of excellence in safety and sustainability.

Graduate Educator Award: Dr. Derek Lichti

Award criteria: Awarded to recipients from each department who have demonstrated excellence in teaching graduate-level courses and supervision of of master's and doctoral students' thesis research in the previous two years.

Teaching Excellence Award: Dr. Yang Gao

Award criteria: Awarded to recipients in each department who have demonstrated excellence in the teaching of undergraduate engineering students during the previous academic year.

2022 Engineering Excellence Awards

Research Excellence Award: Dr. Derek Lichti

Award criteria: Awarded to recipients from each department who have demonstrated excellence in teaching graduate-level courses and supervision of of master's and doctoral students' thesis research in the previous two years.

Outstanding Research Impact Award: Dr. Naser El-Sheimy

Award criteria: Demonstrated excellence in achieving research impact in industry practice or society, through patents, licensing, start-up companies, open-source software, or other evidence of research impact.

Graduate Student Research Excellence Award: Katherine Pexman

Award criteria: Demonstrated research excellence such as high impact publication(s), an outstanding thesis, patent application(s), or a student led start-up.
