Ready for a Fortress Mountain hike?
After a night’s rest at the Barrier Lake Field Station, two UCalgary geoscience students spend a day hiking, observing, and collecting data on Fortress Mountain.

After a night’s rest at the Barrier Lake Field Station, geoscience PhD student Gerardo Zegers and undergraduate student/field assistant David Garcia spend a day hiking, observing, and collecting data on Fortress Mountain. The students deploy tiny digital temperature loggers on the mountainside to study permafrost over time.
