The Office of the Registrar at UCalgary has unveiled a new classroom search tool designed to help instructors better understand their assigned teaching spaces. This updated platform provides detailed information on 178 centrally scheduled classrooms across the campus.
The new website offers several features designed to assist instructors, including:
- 3D photos of classrooms to help visualize the space
- Classroom seating type to understand how the room can be used
- Technology details included in each classroom
- Campus location of the assigned classroom
An example of the tool's functionality can be seen by viewing information for classroom ENA 101, photo above. Instructors are encouraged to explore the new tool and add it to their bookmarks for easy access.
In addition to the online resources, new signage will be installed in each centrally scheduled classroom. The signs will include a direct link to its corresponding web page, details on seating arrangements, and contact information for key campus services such as ComMedia, Facilities, and Campus Security.
Community effort recognized
The development of this tool was driven by valuable input from the university community. Much appreciation and thanks to all who participated in discussions about learning spaces, as well as to the faculty advisory group who provided guidance throughout the project.
