Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholarship
Our Changing Climate: Community Resilience and Education
The Canadian Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholarships (QES) is managed through a unique partnership of Universities Canada, the Rideau Hall Foundation, and Canadian postsecondary institutions. QES is made possible with the financial contributions from the Rideau Hall Foundation.
Graduate students from the Werklund School of Education and the Faculty of Social Work will have the opportunity to participate in a 60-day international experience in Auckland, New Zealand, in addition to inclusion with an ongoing international community of QEScholars alumni.
This new opportunity includes community engagement, research and leadership activities, focusing on community resilience and education in adaptation, response and resilience to a changing climate, taking into account diversity and inclusion of identities and perspectives.
The QES increases research collaboration, deepens peer relationships and networking among scholars, and facilitates personal and professional growth. This project is planning 4-5 outgoing students per year, 18 total over the 4 years of exchanges, and 2 incoming students per year for 8 total visiting student researchers from our project partner the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
