Canada

Dr Shelleyann Scott is a Professor in the Leadership, Policy and Governance specialization at the University of Calgary's Werklund School of Education. Her previous leadership roles include Associate Dean of Professional and Community Engagement and Chair of Leadership, Director of Graduate Programs, Director of Teaching and Learning in the Business School at Curtin University. Her workplace experience spans the contexts of business, government, and medical research. She is an experienced tertiary and secondary educator. Her research interests include leadership development across the K-12 and higher education sectors, the establishment and evaluation of professional development; the use of ICT to support ongoing reflection and learning for educators and students; instructional strategies; and student assessment. Dr Scott was the recipient of the Australian College of Education Prize for Excellence in Pre-service Teacher Education in 1994, the Western Australian Institute of Educational Research (WAIER) Award for Postgraduate Research in 1998, and the Walter D Neal Award for Excellence in Educational Research in 2002. Dr Scott has authored and co-authored numerous scholarly publications and is a reviewer for the Educational Forum. Shelley is currently supervising twelve doctoral students and has supervised three to completion in Australia and Canada. She has served as external examiners for the Aga Khan University in East Africa.

Shelley is a member of the International Study of Principal Preparation (ISPP) which investigates more effective models of leadership development for school leaders. She has received research funding for both large and small scale studies in the areas of student assessment, capacity building in higher education, and international development of educators in schools and higher education. Granting authorities have been AusAid, provincial governments, and universities. Shelley is an experienced professional developer who has designed and facilitated programs for educators in Australia, Canada, Fiji, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Sri Lanka.

Dr Donald Scott is an Associate Professor in Leadership, Governance and Policy at the University of Calgary, specialization at the University of Calgary's Werklund School of Education, Alberta, Canada. He received his doctorate in educational technology that promotes effective learning from Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia in 2009. His doctoral research received nomination for the Emerald international award. He is an experienced secondary and tertiary educator with over three decades experience in high schools and the higher education contexts. Don has held numerous leadership and senior administrative positions during his thirty years in education. He has conducted mixed method, large-scale quantitative studies. His research interests include leadership development; capacity building within education; ICT that supports learning of teachers, students, and organisations; and promoting more effective services for students at risk. Don is a member of the International Study of Principal Preparation (ISPP) which is a consortium of international scholars across thirteen countries focused on exploring the effectiveness of leadership development within the K-12 context. Don has published numerous articles and book chapters on the themes of leadership development, organisational change and innovation, professional development, and ICT for learning.

Dr Linda Dudar (retired) was the Dean of Education at St. Mary's University in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Her leadership focused on the Bachelor of Education program which facilitated the development of teachers for Catholic schools. Linda has over two decades of leadership experience in K-12 education, the community, and has experience in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police force. Linda holds a Bachelor of Education from Brandon University and a Master of Arts in Administration and Curriculum from Gonzaga University. Linda's Doctor of Philosophy is in leadership and fast-paced organisational change. Her doctoral research was a mixed methods study and investigated leaders, and school and community stakeholders' perspectives related to time-sensitive organisational change within the K-12 context. Since retirement Linda has become interested in exploring professional development for leaders in higher education as part of her post-doctoral research agenda.

Dr Abdoulaye Anne is an educational sociologist interested in the quality of education and the relevance of educational issues, Abdoulaye Anne is an Assistant Professor in the Foundations and Practices in Education Department at the Université Laval ’s Faculty of Education, in Québec City (Canada).

Dr Anne has a great interest for the comparative analysis of the policies and practices that organize and structure the educational field. This includes aspects related to school management and leadership. He received his doctorate in Sciences humaines appliquées from Université de Montréal (Québec, Canada). Combined with more than ten years workplace experience, including four years at one of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)’s Institutes (www.ibe-unesco.org), his doctoral and postdoct studies make him a great educational policy field researcher. He has authored and co-authored numerous scholarly publications on educational reform and innovation.

His current research interests include (1) the sensemaking by social actors of the decentralization processes in education, (2) the involvement of educational stakeholders in the design of educational policies and (3) the overall cognitive aspects related to the implementation of education programmes. Dr Anne is a member of two important educational research center in Québec, Canada, the Centre de recherche et d’intervention sur la réussite scolaire (CRIRES) and Centre de recherche interuniversitaire sur la formation et la profession enseignante (CRIFPE).

Dr. Peng Liu is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Education, University of Manitoba. His research interests include Indigenous leadership, cross cultural studies, effective leadership, higher education leadership, educational change, educational policy, teacher professional development, and international and comparative education. Dr. Liu earned his doctorate degree from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. Dr. Liu has published articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals. He also serves as an associate editor for the International Journal of Comparative Education and Development. Dr. Liu is collaborating with Yuan Teng to explore leadership development in the Chinese context.

Dr. David Litz is an Assistant Professor at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) where he teaches in the BEd program. He also a sessional instructor at the University of Calgary. He was previously an Assistant Professor and Division Head of the Assessment and School Evaluation Division at Emirates College for Advanced Education (ECAE). David’s research interests include comparative education, educational administration and leadership, social justice, as well as educational policy.

Elaine is a retired school leader and is now an Associate Professor at Western University, Ontario. Elaine’s research interests include inclusion, inclusive leadership, and teaching and learning strategies in support of optimal learning for all students. Elaine was awarded the Canadian Educational Research Association’s (CERA) Todd Rogers Award (2020) in recognition of her achievements and contributions in providing leadership in the field of evidence-based research in schools and creating a culture of knowledge mobilization-based professionalism in schools and classrooms. In 2023, Elaine was awarded the Vice President’s Award for Excellence in Online Teaching and Learning in her university teaching role.

Aloy is currently a doctoral student in Leadership, Policy, and Governance, Werklund School of Education, at the University of Calgary, undertaking his second doctorate in leadership in higher education. Aloy is also the Research Manager for the project on Black people’s health, racialized peoples’ health, and anti-racism at the Department of Community Health Sciences, Cumming School of Medicine. Aloy holds a PhD in Human Nutrition and is a PhD candidate in the Leadership discipline. Aloysius is a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist (RDN) in Nigeria and was a lecturer at the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he supervised more than 25 undergraduate students’ research. He has served at various leadership positions both in the Nutrition and Dietetics profession and in academia. Aloy’s interests in the ISLDHE is to focus on formal leaders’ leadership development experiences in Medicine and Health Sciences. In 2023, Aloy was awarded the prestigious Izaak Walton Killam Pre-Doctoral Scholarship Award. Aloy’s supervisor is Dr. Shelleyann Scott, Chair of the ISLDHE.

Zohre is a PhD student enrolled in Iran. In 2023, Zohre joined the ISLDHE research team as a Visiting Exchange student at the University of Calgary, Canada. Her research interests encompass leadership development opportunity and programming for university leaders with a focus on exploring cross-cultural comparisons across the Iranian and Canadian post-secondary contexts. Prior to her doctoral studies Zohre held leadership roles in a research centre and in schools. Zohre exchange experience is being hosted and supervised by Dr. Shelleyann Scott, and her doctoral supervisor is Dr. Gholamreza Shams at Shahid Beheshti University (SBU), Iran.

Dr. Larry Couture is an Instructor at Olds College of Agriculture & Technology (OCAT). He teaches business and agribusiness courses with a focus on human resources management, innovation, and leadership. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), from the University of Saskatchewan, a Master of Education from the University of Prince Edward Island and, in 2021, he completed the Doctor of Education program in the Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary, with a focus on educational leadership. Larry’s research interests are diverse including: educational leadership challenges and the future of publicly funded post-secondary education in a post-pandemic world, as well as student learning issues influenced by technology and social media. Larry is part of the team of academics who are joining the ISLDHE with a particular focus on leadership in the Canadian post-secondary college sector.

Dean is currently the Chair, Community Studies at Northern Lakes College. Formerly, he was Manager of Program and Curriculum in the department of Continuing Education and Corporate Training at Olds College of Agriculture and Technology in Olds, Alberta. He received his M.Ed from Murdoch University in Perth, Australia, and his Doctor of Education in Leadership in Post-Secondary Contexts, at the University of Calgary. Dean’s experience includes 10 years in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the Faculty of Education at the largest public provider of higher education, the Higher Colleges of Technology. During this time, Dean also liaised and consulted with the UAE Ministry of Education on quality initiatives, such as the teaching licensure framework and teaching licensure exam, and was seconded to work with the Emirates College of Advanced Education on leadership training for Principals in the UAE. His research interests include leadership, policy implementation, assessment policy, strategic planning, and teaching and learning. Dean is also part of the scholarly team of academics who are implementing the ISLDHE in the Canadian post-secondary college sector.

Dr. Kurt Spady is an instructor in the School of Life Science and Business at Olds College in Alberta Canada. Instructing since 2011, he has a focused on facilitating courses related to general business, leadership, management, and organizational development. His research interests include leadership, post-secondary education, as well as business and organizational development from a social and emotional learning perspective. Kurts also holds an MBA from Athabasca University. Kurt is part of the scholarly team who are implementing the ISLDHE in the Canadian post-secondary college sector.

Australia

Dr Kathryn Dixon is an experienced school and university educator who has held leadership positions in both the K-12 and higher education (post-secondary) contexts. Kathryn has successfully supervised numerous doctoral students and teaches key research units in the degree programs at Curtin University. Kathryn's research interests include leadership, teaching and learning in higher education contexts, professional development, and online and blended learning. She has authored numerous publications in these areas and has maintained a strong profile at the national and international level through regular conference presentations. The Learning Excellence and Alliance Project (LEAP) that she collaborated on with research partner Dr Shelleyann Scott at Curtin University resulted in numerous research papers which focussed on the development of quality teaching, learning, assessment and leadership in higher education as well as a successful model of professional development for academic staff.

Since joining the School of Education at Curtin University in 2000 Kathryn has undertaken a number of leadership roles. She is currently the Curtin University co-coordinator of the National Technology, Pedagogy and Content Knowledge (TPACK) project which involves 39 Australian Universities. The project aims to improve the ICT skills of pre-service teachers and professionals in the field in order to facilitate the implementation of the National Curriculum initiative which is currently underway. She has worked as Director of Graduate Studies for the Faculty of Humanities at Curtin. Her other leadership roles included: Program Coordinator of Training and Development, Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching, Post Graduate Programs in Education. Kathryn is currently Coordinator of Honours Program in Education.

Tomayess Issa is a senior lecturer at the School of Information Systems at Curtin University, Australia. Tomayess has held a number of leadership positions encompassing curriculum leadership - leading teams of tutors and instructors as well as leading various research teams. Tomayess completed her doctoral research in Web development and Human Factors. As a university teacher, she is interested in establishing teaching methods and styles to enhance students’ learning experiences and resolve problems that students face. Currently, she conducts research locally and globally in information systems, Human-Computer Interaction, Usability, Social Networking, Teaching and Learning, Sustainability, Green IT and Cloud Computing. She is a Project leader in the International research network (IRNet-EU) designed to study and develop new tools and methods for advanced pedagogical science in the field of ICT instruments, e-learning and intercultural competences and she is a senior research member of ISRLAb (Information Society Research Lab) from International Association for Development of the Information Society.

Theodora Issa is a multi-award winner, senior lecturer at the Curtin Business School, Curtin University, Australia. Theodora has been a curriculum leader and a leader of a range of research groups. Theodora designed and facilitated Sustainable Development Business Strategies for the Master of International Business program. Currently, Theodora’s post-doctoral research focuses on ethical mindsets, spirituality, and aesthetics. She is Associate Editor of the Journal of Business Ethics – A European Review (BE:ER), a guest co-editor for the special issue of Management Research in Review: Innovative Research Methods in Management, Spirituality and Religion. Although my undergraduate and postgraduate was in the area of Computer Science, over the last ten years I have worked to enhance the quality of education in Chile. Over this past decade, I have served in different leadership positions in higher education including:

  • Provost, University of Santiago of Chile (2016–2018)
  • Coordinator, Team of the Higher Education of the Ministry of Education which established a proposal of Guidelines for Public Policies on Teacher Education (2015–2016)
  • Head of the Institutional Financing Department, Higher Education Division, Ministry of Education (2014–2016)
  • Member of the Reform Team of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (2014–2016)
  • Director of the team that developed a Qualification National Framework for Higher Education, Chile’s Ministry of Education (2014–2016)

  • Coordinator of the Council of Chancellor Network for the Implementation of the Credit Transfer System (2010–2014)

I have also become very interested in how to promote effective leadership in higher education through useful leadership development.

China

Dr. Nian RUAN is a research specialist in the Strategic Planning and Development Office at Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU, Shenzhen, China) and currently focuses on studies about the university of applied science and graduate education. Before joining SZTU, Nian obtained her PhD from Faculty of Education, the University of Hong Kong in 2021. Her research interests include higher education policies and leadership, women professors’ intellectual leadership, Chinese international students’ mobility, teaching and learning in higher education. She has research and management experience in public and private universities, as well as the education department of the provincial government in China. Dr. Nuan is collaborating with Dr. Peng Liu at the University of Manitoba and will be undertaking cross cultural comparisons between China and Canada.

England

Professor Susannah Quinsee is Director of Learning Development and Chair in Learning and Teaching Development at City University London. She leads the Learning Enhancement and Development Directorate which encompasses educational development and technology enhanced learning activity; academic skills, dyslexia and disability support, and student counselling and mental health services for the University. She was Chair of the Heads of E-Learning Forum (HeLF) Steering Group from 2007-2011 and as a founder member of HeLF still remains on the HeLF Steering Group. Susannah has worked as a lecturer and in academic support roles at a number of other higher education institutions in the UK as well as leading on large scale institutional change projects. In 2011, Susannah became a National Teaching Fellow. She has considerable experience in the areas of online learning, student support, implementing learning and teaching strategies and project management in relation to higher education. Susannah’s current research focuses on leadership and change management in relation to learning development, developing communities of practice in higher education and engaging staff in new learning and teaching methodologies, particularly using technology.

Dr Pam Parker is Associate Director of the Department for Learning Enhancement and Development at City University London and a Reader in Educational Development. Pam started her career as an adult registered nurse and having spent 6 years as a staff nurse and junior sister then moved into teaching. Pam spent 16 years teaching nursing with most of this at City University London in the School of Nursing and Midwifery. During this time she had a range of roles from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department. Much of the time in Nursing became focused on educational development issues such as curriculum, assessment and staff development and so a move to a central education development role was a natural progression.

Pam’s current role enables her to engage in supporting staff development, promoting recognition and disseminating good practice. Pam has a range of research interests including teaching and learning awards schemes, the impact of academic practice programmes, curriculum development, personal tutoring and individual development for different roles and succession planning. Pam has extensive experience in supporting teacher development progranmmes for Higher Education and accreditation of these.

Pam is also Co-Chair of SEDA a national organisation for staff and educational development and a member of the Conference and events committee. Pam has Senior Fellowship with SEDA and is an HEA Fellow.

Dr Justine Mercer joined the University of Warwick in January 2010 and is currently the Course Director of the Master of Arts in Educational Leadership (Teach First) programme. Her doctoral thesis investigated the power dynamics inherent in faculty appraisal, using a grounded theory approach. Justine has conducted research into the impact of continuing professional development in schools; English and Russian understandings of educational leadership, and the role of the manager-academic in Higher Education. Justine's publications include articles on Higher Education leadership and the dynamics of insider-research, co-authored a book on Human Resource Management in Education and she is currently writing papers about Teach First and women early career researchers in Schools of Education. She has supervised six Doctor of Education students to completion, five of whom conducted their research overseas (in Barbados, Kenya, Malaysia, and Oman). Justine is an external examiner for the Doctor of Education programme run by the University of Lincoln, and for the Master of Science Management and Leadership in Education run by the University of Strathclyde.

Prior to her appointment at the University of Warwick, Justine was a member of the Centre for Educational Leadership and Management (CELM) and the School of Education at the University of Leicester. She also worked for fifteen years as a British Council project manager, Ministry of Education advisor, and Higher Education lecturer in Thailand, Turkey, China, Hungary, Oman and the United Arab Emirates. She is particularly interested in cross-cultural understandings of educational leadership, and led two partnerships with Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia under the auspices of the British Degrees in Russia (BRIDGE) programme. Whilst at Leicester, she was Programme Leader for the Master of Science, Educational Leadership, and Specialism Leader for the Doctorate in Education (Leadership and Learning). Justine ran the Master of Science Educational Leadership for a group of middle leaders at the Girls' Day School Trust, and contributed to Educational Leadership courses for school business managers and international students.

Fiji

Mrs Salote Rabuka is the Director of the Higher Education (HE) Commission in Fiji’s Ministry of Education. Salote is currently overseeing the process of evaluating Fiji’s 72 universities and colleges for accreditation purposes. She has also presided over the development and drafting of the Fiji Qualifications Framework which will guide the monitoring of quality of institutions within the post-secondary context.

Mrs Rabuka has held numerous leadership positions in education including teacher and Head of Department within the K-12 context, as well as, Principal Education Officer, Head of Section, and now Director within the higher education sector. She is an experienced educator who held teaching positions in Mathematics and Computing and also taught in and developed university programs. Prior to taking up her appointment as Director of Fiji’s HE Commission, Salote was the Head of the Examinations Section in the Ministry of Education for 13 years. Salote has an M.Ed from Griffiths University in Queensland, Australia and a Bachelor of Education from the University of the South Pacific.

Netherlands

Dr. Piet Kommers is an early pioneer in media for cognitive- and social support. His doctoral research explored methods for hypertext and concept mapping in learning. Since 1982 he developed educational technology as an engineering approach for learning and teaching. His main thesis is that technology is catalytic for human ambition and awareness. His main function is associate professor in the University in Twente, The Netherlands and adjunct/visiting professor in various countries. He taught more than fifteen bachelor-, master- and PhD courses and supervised more than 30 PhD students. He instigated and coordinated the NATO Advanced Research Workshop on Cognitive Technologies in 1990 and a large series of Joint European Research Projects in: authoring multimedia, web-based learning, teacher education, virtual 3d worlds, constructivist learning, social media, web-based communities and international student exchange. UNESCO awarded his work in ICT for Education in Eastern Europe with the title of Honorary Professor. The Capital Normal University in Beijing awarded his work with the title of Honorary Doctor. He is member of advisory boards in ministries of education and academia of sciences in Singapore, Finland and Russia. Piet Kommers is the initiator of the international journal for web-based communities and overall chair of the IADIS conferences on societal applications of ICT. Since the late nineties he gave more than 40 invited and keynote lectures at main conferences in the fields of education, media and communication. His books and journal articles address the social and intellectual transformations at each transition from “traditional” into the “new” media. Instead of regarding media as extrapolating, supplanting, vicarious or even disruptive, Piet’s view is that new media elicit and seduce both individuals and organisations to reconsider human nature and challenge existential awareness at that very moment. New Zealand

Sharon has actively participated and been in employed in higher education for over 30 years in both academic and senior leadership roles encompassing international education, recruitment, enrollment management, institutional communications, governance, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Sharon’s doctoral research focused on ‘Principled Leadership’ which aimed to inform leadership development for enhanced leadership. Sharon’s research was based in Nova Scotia, Canada. Since her doctorate completion, she has founded the Principled Leadership Institute which is providing leadership development to aspirants and leaders in New Zealand and in other countries. Sharon is also the author and facilitator of “The Leader in the Mirror” podcast which offers leaders’ personal narratives and wisdom.

I have participated in didactic and scientific trainings in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Russia, Holland and Australia. I have taken part in 14 research projects, out of which 5 (including 2 international) have been coordinated by me. Portugal

Prof. Pedro Isaías is a professor at the Universidade Aberta (Portuguese Open University) in Lisbon, Portugal, responsible for several courses and director of the master degree program in Electronic Commerce and Internet since its start in 2003 until 2014. He is the Master of Management/MBA director since 2014. He is co-founder and president of IADIS, a scientific non-profit association. He holds a PhD in Information Management (in the specialty of information and decision systems) from the New University of Lisbon. Author of several books, papers and research reports in the information systems area, he has chaired several conferences and workshops within the mentioned area. He is also member of the editorial board of several journals and program committee member of several conferences and workshops. He has been responsible for the scientific coordination of several EU funded projects such as CHILIAS, VERITY AND LIBERATOR from previous EU frameworks. He is currently involved in the EU research project “Empathic Products” and also in a COST action FP1104: New possibilities for print media and packaging – combining print with digital. Presently he conducts research activity related to Information Systems in general, E-Learning, E-Commerce and WWW related areas. Professor Pedro Isaias has dealt with leadership issues during years by being president of IADIS, and also through the participation in a Rector group in Universidade Aberta that dealt with strategic direction of the university and also involved leadership aspects.

Paula Mirandais an Assistant Professor in the Department of Informatics and Systems at School of Technology at the Polytechnic Institute of Setubal, Portugal. She is currently doing a PhD in Information Systems and Technologies about the theme of Web 3.0 framework and Education, at ISCTE-IUL in Portugal. She holds a master degree from University of Coimbra with the dissertation in the area of Decision Support Systems (DSSs). She has authored several research papers in the aforementioned area of DSSs. Her areas of interest include Information Systems in general, more specifically database systems, systems analysis and design, decision support systems and programming environments. Over the last years her research interests have been concentrated in the Information Society.

Sara Pifano is a researcher at the Information Society Research Lab from IADIS, Lisbon, Portugal. She has completed her PhD in Web 2.0’s Critical Success Factors, at the Open University in Portugal. Noraida Domínguez-Flores, was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She possesses a masters degree, from the University of Puerto Rico and a PhD in Information Science from Nova Southeastern University, Florida, USA. She also possesses a certificate in Knowledge Management from Kent State University, Ohio, US. Since 2013 she has been an Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Information Science and Technologies from the University of Puerto Rico. Mercy Delgado Cordero is from Carolina, Puerto Rico. She has a BA in Comparative Literature with a second major in Art History, a certificate in Arts Edition and Publishing and a Masters in Information Science, from the University of Puerto Rico. Also possess a certification in Administration and Museum Collections Management, from the University of Turabo and the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Currently she is completing an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership at the University of Puerto Rico. Spain

Dr. Laura Alonso-Díaz is Lecturer at the Educational Sciences Department of the Teacher Education College at University of Extremadura in Caceres, Spain. Since year 2013, she is Vice-Dean for Internship & Teaching Practice at the Teacher Education College, where she manages the teaching practices of the Faculty: Degree of Primary Education, Degree of Early Childhood Education, Degree of Social Education, and Postgraduate Master on Secondary Education Teacher Training. She is also part of the group that coordinates the quality of the Degree of Social Education (since 2008), as well as part of group that coordinates the Degree of Primary Education of the bilingual Modality.
Her teaching experience is related to Social Education, Teaching training of social-labor workers (leadership, entrepreneurship for social agents) as well as e-learning and ICT in Education. She has been awarded for teaching excellence 2014 at University of Extremadura. She has also coordinated and leader different postgraduate courses in relation with e-learning & teacher training.
Her Research topics are related to educational Technology, teacher’s & trainers’ training, e-learning, Social Education (leadership, entrepreneurship for social agents). Her thesis dissertation was presented in 2007 entitled E-Learning Tutors’ Training. She has been involved in national & international research projects, written books & articles in relation with her research topics. During 2015 she leads an innovation project in relation with the design & application of a quality process to evaluate the quality of the Degree of Primary Education in the bilingual Modality.

Juan Arias Masa, is Senior Lecturer in the area of Telematics within the Department of Computer and Telematics engineering at the University of Extremadura since 1993. He is also a professor and advisor in the area of computer science at the Spanish Distance University (UNED) since 2001. Currently, he is the coordinator of the BA in Telematics at the Polytechnic School in Mérida, Spain. He holds a BA in Education (1986) and furthermore a BA in Engineering (1989). He obtained a masters in engineering at the University of Seville in 1989. He holds a PhD from the University of Extremadura (2008). His dissertation dealt with “Evaluation of on line courses quality: quality indexes and building of an ad hoc questionnaire and its application to the telematics field”.

He has been a member of numerous and competitive projects and nowadays is part of a project entitled “IRNet - International Research Network for study and development of new tools and methods for advanced pedagogical science in the field of ICT instruments, e-learning and intercultural competences”.

He belongs to CIBERDIDACT, a research group located at the University of Extremadura. His main research interest covers educational technology and especially synchronous virtual class rooms.

Gemma Delicado, Associate Dean for International Affairs and Movility since 2012.  She has been involved in different study abroad programs since 2004 as a professor and Director. She is currently the Resident Director of the Purdue (EE.UU) study abroad program in Spain and ICRP (The Integrative Cultural Project Coordinator) for the Kalamazoo College (EE.UU) study abroad program in Caceres, Spain. In her faculty, she also coordinates and directs the Bilingual B.A. in Primary Education and two innovation projects in education.

She holds a B.A in English from the University of Extremadura, an MA in Literature from Western Michigan University (EE.UU) and a PhD from the University of Chicago (EE.UU). She attended Kalamazoo College and was a visiting researcher at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain. Currently she is an Assistant Professor for the English Department at the University of Extremadura where she also teaches Spanish as a foreign language.

She has attended a great number of conferences and published a book, several chapters and numerous articles. She has been involved in 2 European projects entitled “NELLIP,  Network  of  European  Language  Labelled Initiatives  Project, ( 519129-LLP-1-2011-1-IT-KA2-KA2NW), Lifelong Learning Programme de la Education” and  “LiMe – Languages in Media - KA2 Languages - Project No. 530866-LLP-1-2012-1-DE-KA2-KA2MP” and also a Marie Curie Actions one entitled “IRNet - International Research Network for study and development of new tools and methods for advanced pedagogical science in the field of ICT instruments, e-learning and intercultural competences (PIRSES-GA-2013-612536)”

Prof. Dr. Iryna Sekret (PhD in Educational and Developmental Psychology; PhD in Education). Currently, Professor of Department of Translation and Interpreting at Abant Izzet Baysal University (Turkey). From 2004 till 2013 Dr Sekret worked at the positions of Director of the Center of the International Collaboration and Students’ Academic Mobility, Chair of the Foreign Languages Department, acted as the Vice Dean of Faculty of Philology and Sociology (Dniprodzerzhinsk State Technical University, Ukraine). Prof. Sekret’s research interests include organizational psychology, psychology of learning, ICT-enhanced education, language studies. She is the author of more than 120 scientific publications, including monographs and manuals. She has rich experience of organizing scientific conferences and seminars; an editor of the conference proceedings and a reviewer of international publications. Durmus is a professor of mathematics education and the head of the Primary School Teacher Training Program. He graduated from Bosphorus University in 1991, and got scholarship from Abant Izzet Baysal University in 1993. He got acceptance from The University of Texas at Arlington, TX, USA. He received his masters and Ph. D. Degrees from same university in 1995 and 1999 respectively. He got his professor position at Abant Izzet Baysal University in 2011. He is the head of another project supported by Abant Izzet Baysal University. This project is related to neuroscience and learning. He participated asp; a researcher in two Eurepean Union Projects which are conducted by The National Ministry of Education. He was part of the committee which developed a curriculum for primary schools in Turkey. He was editor of 9 textbooks written for primary schools. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses related to mathematics teaching and integration of different technologies into mathematics teaching. He is also teaching courses related to research design and analyzing data. He is now a part of research project called IRNET. He has masters and PhD students with whom he is conducting different researches with schools, universities, families, in-service teachers and prospective teachers.

Hamit Coskun is a professor of social psychology and chairperson in psychology department, and dean in the Faculty of Arts and Science at the Abant Izzet Baysal University in Bolu, Turkey. His general area is on group processes. His work  especially focuses on brainstorming, group creativity, social identity, cognitive stimulation, divergent thinking, role exchange, leadership, team work, motivation, emotion, mood, anxiety, group context, attitudes, seasonal and hormonal influences on behaviors and boredom. United Arab Emirates

Dr Rida Blaik Hourani earned her Ph.D. in Policy and Management from The University of Melbourne. Dr Blaik Hourani has worked at various higher education institutions, in addition to teaching and authoring diverse courses in both education and social sciences disciplines.  She lectures courses within the realm of education leadership, school management, curriculum and instruction, peace studies, school reforms, cultural studies and sociology of education.  She has recently assumed the position of Division Head of Educational Leadership Arts & Humanities at Emirates College for Advanced education, after holding the position of Division Head for Arts and Humanities at that institution for several years.  Dr. Rida Blaik Hourani has numerous publications; her research focus is in policy and leadership, school reforms and innovation, sociology of education and cultural studies.
