Contemporary Calgary

Contemporary Calgary logo

Contemporary Calgary is a public art gallery and cultural hub located in the former Centennial
Planetarium, an iconic 60,000 square foot building that anchors the west end of Downtown Calgary.
We showcase a wide range of contemporary artistic production across multiple gallery spaces and
two distinctive performance spaces. Our frequently changing exhibitions and programs present the
work of local, national, and international artists.

Contemporary Kids is a weekly arts-based workshop held at Contemporary Calgary. Children
between the ages of 5 and 12, alongside their parents or guardians, join our TD Educational
Coordinator and our TD Educational Facilitators on an exhibition tour, followed by an opportunity to
make art inspired by what they’ve seen. Participants explore age-appropriate ideas and concepts as
they hone their skills in the visual fine arts. Activities vary based on current exhibitions.
