Holistic Education Placements

PhilKids is inspired by Venezuela's El Sistema program, where students benefit from a social program taught through music. Currently operating out of Keeler Elementary, students from grade 1 to 5 participate in music lessons led by musicians from the CPO.

The Stampede School is a first-class educational experience for students in grades 1-6 that relocates classrooms to Stampede Park. Participating pre-service teachers will support weekly activities, and develop activities to lead in their final week of the program.

The Youth Volunteer Corps provides youth with the opportunity to volunteer at over 150 agencies across Calgary. Pre-service teachers will work alongside established Team Leaders to run icebreakers, guide reflections, and lead youth at various service opportunities throughout the semester.
